El día de hoy llegué a la oficina unas horas más tarde de lo habitual y para mi sorpresa una bomba había caido: mi jefe había hablado con el personal administrativo y con los estudiantes acerca de mi transición. Oficialmente, hoy ha sido mi «día de salir del closet» en el trabajo.
Es una sensación rara la de finalmente no tener que ocultar nada, pero definitivamente es reconfortante. Aunque tuve mucho trabajo, pude platicar con algunas personas acerca de la noticia y nuevamente recibí muestras de apoyo y solidaridad. Ahora sólo falta terminar esta semana para entonces decir adios, tomarme una semana de vacaciones, y entonces volver al trabajo como Dania.
Parece que finalmente cumpliré mis deseos y, afortunadamente todo ha resultado de una manera muy positiva. Así pues, la cuenta regresiva continua…
It is a weird feeling the one of finally not having anything to hide, and it is also very comforting. Even though I had a lot of work today, I had chance to talk to few people about the news and again I receive a lot of support and solidarity. Now I just have to end this week so I can say goodbye, then I’ll take a week off work, and then I’ll come back as Dania.
It looks like I’m finally getting all I ever wanted and, thankfully, everything has turned out very well. Meanwhile, the countdown continues…
